The Meaning Behind the Venturing Vows Logo

Venturing Vows Logo

I'm so excited to show off Venturing Vows new logo! I have a friend from high school that has been taking art commissions. I'm so glad I went with a local artist rather than an auto-generated graphic from a website generator. Part of why I love it so much is because each part of it means something to me, my identity as an adventurer, and my identity as a photographer.

Mountains: I was born and raised in North Idaho. The gorgeous mountains got me started on a lifetime of adventure. I spent my childhood exploring the backcountry roads of the mountains behind my house. Living there sparked my spirit of adventure.

Ocean: I went to the ocean for the first time when I was 4. My soul found its home that day. It became a lifelong goal to relocate there. My husband and I were just recently able to make this a reality.

Rocks: The rocks in front of the mountains and in the water are my favorite part. My husband and I eloped on Rockaway Beach. These are the rocks that were just off shore when we vowed the rest of our lives to each other. Beyond that being the best day of my life, it also showed me everything elopements can be. I realized how genuine, personal, and intimate eloping is. Not a shameful, sneaky event, but a beautiful intentional day designed for you and no one else.

Fern: Beyond being a notorious plant of the Pacific Northwest, it's one of my favorite plants. My background is actually in biology so adding this plant was also a homage to that love. I became a fern lover when I learned about their unique alternation of generations because of the relatively old evolutionary development. It's super cool but also a super complex topic. Definitely many lectures in college on it to even begin to understand. It seriously makes ferns so much cooler if you're willing to look into it.

I hope this encourages you to seek out local artists and small business designers to help you with your logo. Sure those easy-to-generate logos are great but this logo has such a deep meaning to me. No generically generated logo could create something this perfect and customized for me. Thanks to my friend for creating a logo I'll be showing off for years and years to come.
